Josh and I decided to go on a road trip a couple Saturdays ago to see the glacier that is only an hour south of Anchorage. Its the Portage Glacier. The drive in itself was beautiful! Huge mountains on one side and the blue ocean on the other. You couldn't ask for anything more beautiful! Alaska will just amaze you sometimes. Needless to say, we really enjoyed ourselves and had a nice Saturday spent together.
I don't know about the rest of you but I have never seen a glacier in real life before and never really understood how they are formed but when you can see one it all makes sense and it is really awesome to see a "mountain of ice", basically.
Sorry its kind of hard to actually see our faces but the sun was not cooperating to take the pictures. But i think we look good anyways!! Ha Ha.

Super cool post and super cute pics. Yes you do look good - say it proudly girl! I love what you are wearing and I just got my hair cut and thats what its supposed to look like when I do it, but it never does.....don't laugh Stephenie. So, is that glacier like a tourist spot or its just out there and you can drive right up to it? I think I was expecting to see a lot of Japanese tourists taking pictures next to you guys or something because it sounds like a famous place like the Grand Canyon or something. I'm retarded. That is really awesome though and it looks breathtaking. Seriously I think Alaska is the most picture perfect state....literally. That is awesome. I am so glad you guys updated....hope I didn't pressure too much, but its just so fun to see what you're up to and laugh at you guys and be proud of you and everything else. We love you guys so much. It was so much fun talking to you on the phone yesterday too Brittany. Miss you tons....both of you.
yes i guess you could call it a tourist attraction but we went when it was considered "off season" because the visitor center they have there was closed. you can also take a boat ride right out to the glacier and that was also closed because the boat was still frozen in the water. so there was really noboby else out there except us. we were only a couple weeks early though.
wow, that is a really pretty place! Sorry we're not able to come in July. Sean wants so badly to drive Steph there!! Its his dream place!!
